What is colophon?

Colophon is a new GPL-3.0 publishing system built around ownership and portability.

It can run as a local-first browser/PWA, a desktop application using local SQLite and media storage, or a shared self-hosted publication.

Rather than being limited to a stream of blog posts, it includes optional tools for articles, archives, collections, RSS and podcasts, campaigns, translations, media management, print projects, analytics, and editorial workflows.

Publications can also be exported and imported as portable .colophon bundles, and publication-specific identity is kept separate from the upstream software.

It's still early software, currently in the 0.x release series, so feedback from people who actually run self-hosted infrastructure would be especially useful, particularly around deployment, portability, backups, and what you'd want before trusting it with a real publication.
