What is ClipRaft?

Copy on one device, paste on another. ClipRaft syncs your clipboard and sends files between Windows, macOS, Linux and Android over your local network. No cloud, no account, end-to-end encrypted. Free on desktop.

Put your computers, phones and tablets on the same network and they copy, paste and send files to each other, directly over your LAN with no server in between.

Key facts

  • Simple: Set up once. No settings to configure, no account to register, and it waits in the tray
  • Small: 1.56 MB, no installer, runs on a double-click. It does not sit in the background
  • Secure: End-to-end encrypted, sent directly within your own network segment, never through a server
  • Text: Up to 8 MB on Windows and Linux, 150 KB on macOS
  • Images: Converted to PNG in transit. 32 MB on Windows, 16 MB on Linux, 8 MB on macOS
  • Files: Up to 4 GB on desktop, 50 MB on phones. One at a time
  • Files on the clipboard: Not handled. Copying a file and pasting it does not work; use Send File
  • All devices have to be on the same local network. Neither other network segments nor the internet will work. That is a deliberate trade: without a server, the privacy question changes from whether you trust an operator to whether the content ever left your network.
  • Phones need a tap. Phone systems allow neither background clipboard reads nor long-lived apps. So on a phone you pull down and tap once: content sent from a computer is held on the sending side until you fetch it. Writing to the clipboard is unrestricted, which makes computer-to-phone the smoother direction.
  • Pricing: Desktop builds are free and need no installer. The phone apps are coming soon to the app stores, with a 14-day free trial.
  • Current version: 2.0.1
