Audacious vs Clementine Comments
Mac users, note that it can be installed using macports (their website only mentions homebrew)
- Audacious is Free and Open Source

I really enjoy the plug-in features that Audacious offers that I can't find anywhere else. For example, the built-in Dynamic Range Compressor (DRC) is ideal for me because I work in an office with other computer users. I set the DRC to eliminate most of the dynamic range, then I set my volume high enough to hear my tunes. I'll hear all of the music from the loud to quiet portions and I won't miss a thing!
