The app offers a comprehensive drafting workspace including a distraction-free chapter editor, an encrypted story bible, outlining templates, and export options to various formats. There's no lock-in as you can export your manuscript in the format required by your editor or publisher.

CipherWrite stands out due to its Finisher feature, an accountability agent that identifies when you've stalled and helps you progress. It remembers your working patterns but not your chapters, which remain encrypted.

It also provides a suite of AI tools for revision and craft, including an AI Beta Reader, a Deep Read manuscript audit, and an AI Writing Coach. If you prefer, you can bring your own API key to keep AI out of the loop.
