What is Calmly Script?

Calmly Script is a screenwriting app with a clean, distraction-free interface, from the maker of Calmly Writer. It formats the script as you type: Enter and Tab move between scene headings, action, characters, dialogue and parentheticals, while margins, capitals and spacing follow on their own.

A live preview shows the pages as they will print: Courier 12, standard margins, (MORE) and (CONT'D), on US Letter or A4. Besides screenplays, it lays out stage plays, multi-camera sitcoms and manuscripts.

Every script is saved as a plain-text .fountain file. Calmly Script imports Final Draft (FDX), PDF and Word files, and exports to PDF, Word and Final Draft.

Other features include title page, scene numbers, dual dialogue, color-tagged notes, boneyard, find and replace across character names, page and word counts with goals, focus mode, nine themes plus support for Visual Studio Code color themes, and version history.

No account is required and scripts never leave the user's device. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux with a single one-time license, and on Android phones, tablets and Chromebooks through Google Play. A 14-day free trial is available.
