What is BreathGate?

When an app you have chosen comes to the foreground, BreathGate asks for a breath, then asks whether you still want to go in, and steps aside whichever way you decide. It is a pause rather than a lock: about twenty seconds and a decision. It returns on a timer you set per app, so a long session is met partway through.

What you can check before installing: the app declares six permissions and INTERNET sits outside that list, so everything stays on the phone and it runs in airplane mode. Free, GPL-3.0, reproducible builds with the signing key published on every release. Installs from GitHub releases via Obtainium or from its own F-Droid repository.

Most of the code was written by an AI, directed by the author, who is responsible for the result. That is stated in the README so you can decide with it in hand.
