What is Booth?

Booth is voice, text chat and screen sharing for a few friends who game together. One friend hosts on their own PC, the others join with an invite code, and packets go straight between each friend's PC and the host's, encrypted. The host decrypts and forwards everything in the room. There are no accounts and no server in the middle.

Voice uses 5 ms Opus frames with a jitter buffer that starts at the minimum. Screen sharing captures with Desktop Duplication and encodes on the GPU, up to 1440p at 120 fps, in H.264 or HEVC. Ping, jitter and loss stay on screen, and the hotkeys work while a game has focus.

It runs on Windows 10 version 2004 or later and Windows 11 only, takes up to eight people in a room, the host included, and shares one monitor at a time, view only for now. There is no relay. If a friend cannot get in, Booth gives them a code for the host to paste under the invite; failing that, forward UDP 41000 to the host's PC or use Tailscale or WireGuard. Sharing from Intel graphics encodes in software for now, H.264 up to 1080p at 60 fps.
