Gets the project management job done.
Please correct the description. The minimum cost is $15/user per month, not $0
Basecamp to-do lists, due dates, and the ability to assign tasks to team members. This helps keep projects organized and on track.
It gets the job done. However, simple features like following a projects/teams calendar from your personal one is missing, and chat is extremely primitive.
best project management system so far, easy to use and good for small project with a small team.
Good for free users but I like to use ASANA if need more features.
Web interface looks outdated. We are not in 2000 anymore.
I respect your opinion and I can see where you’re coming from. They’re very opinionated (needless to say). The “giant monolith” approach — that is, a central database with models, controllers etc. — makes all apps, native or web, share a lot of views, templates and user interface components.
They’re not into React or other JavaScript frameworks. Their web app is pure html & css “sprinkled” with js where appropriate.
Neverminding the technologies behind it all, the usability and easy of use should be what matters.
What are you missing? Why is it you’re feeling that the web app is outdated?
I love Basecamp and the UI especially. Other reasons and alternatives are reasons to why I personally use it less and less. But the user experience and the intuitiveness of BC3, I think is impeccable. Also—I actually think it’s beautiful. It’s so clear and the absence of noise make focus and real work a bit easier.
