I’ve been using Atlas Red extensively in a complex technical project, together with AI and MCP tools. What I like most is that it helps keep architecture, decisions and project knowledge organized in one place, while still being easy to work with through AI. It has become a genuinely useful part of our workflow. There are still areas that could be improved, but overall it’s been very valuable for us.

What is Atlas Red?

Atlas Red is a browser-based mind mapper sold as a one-time purchase: no subscription, no renewal, no expiry. Pro is $99 once and includes all future updates; Free is free forever with no credit card. Every edition has every feature; a licence only lifts limits.

No lock-in: every map exports any time in Markdown, OPML, XMindMark, JSON, HTML, PNG, SVG and PDF, on the Free tier too. Markdown, YAML, OPML, FreeMind, XMind and plain text import directly, with no AI and no credits.

Optional AI import, paid per job: turn a whiteboard photo, PDF, Word document, meeting transcript, voice recording or YouTube link into an editable map. Every new account gets $1 of trial credit; after that, prepaid packs that never expire, or connect your own model API key on Pro at zero markup.

Atlas Red speaks the Model Context Protocol. Claude and any MCP client connect to https://app.atlas-red.com/mcp; ChatGPT users install the Atlas Red app from the ChatGPT app directory. Both build and restructure real, editable maps from a conversation, free and never metered.
