What is Argus Scan?
Argus Scan is a document scanner for Android built as a Microsoft Lens replacement after Lens was retired. Scan with auto-capture or import from the gallery, run on-device OCR (nothing leaves the phone), annotate with pen/highlighter/text/shapes, and export as a searchable PDF or images.
Its standout feature is redaction that actually destroys data: draw a box over sensitive info, choose solid or pixelate, and the hidden pixels AND the recognised text layer are permanently removed - so redacted details cannot be recovered from the exported PDF. Most scanner apps only draw a box on top.
Free with no subscription and no forced ads: premium extras unlock via optional rewarded ads or small one-time purchases. Includes folders, a PIN/fingerprint-locked private folder, perspective correction, object eraser, and adjustment presets. Android only.
