Antnotes

Antnotes is a replacement for stickies that offers additional features and customization options. It aims to be simple and easy to use while introducing more advanced functionalities. The app has a free version with basic features and a paid version that unlocks all features and supports future development.

One of the standout features of Antnotes is its high level of customization. Users can change the size, placement, background color, text font and color of each note. Notes can be made translucent or pinned to float atop all other windows. Additionally, notes can be rolled-up to a thin stripe, allowing users to see the title without taking up much screen space. The app also supports standard rich text editing features, such as bold, italic, and underline formatting, as well as the ability to insert images and links.

Antnotes offers a search feature that allows users to quickly find specific notes. All active and closed notes are stored in the notes archive, making it easy to access and search through them. Closed notes are not deleted but moved to the archive, where they can be reopened and remain searchable.

The paid version of Antnotes offers some unique features, such as attaching notes to specific applications and quick text and background color selection from favorites. It also includes the ability to choose fonts from a list of predefined and favorite options.

Antnotes does not require cloud storage or accounts. The app can be downloaded and used directly on a Mac, with all notes stored safely on the device and backed up through Time Machine. There is also an option to manually import and export notes through the File menu.

To enhance user convenience, Antnotes is integrated into the system. Users can create a new note from a selection of text in any application by right-clicking and choosing "Services->New Note." Text and files can also be dragged to the app's menu bar or Dock icon to create new notes. Additionally, a global shortcut allows for quick hiding and showing of notes, as well as creating new ones.
