The best open source batch (or mass) renaming software. I don't know what else is out there, but this has everything. A simple interface (although it could use a dark mode) and numerous features, including string integration anywhere in the file name, string replacement, and renaming based on day/date/hour/minute/second/random.

What is Ant Renamer?
Ant Renamer is a free, open-source software that allows users to rename multiple files and folders easily. It supports Unicode names, allowing the renaming of files with non-Latin characters. The software offers several renaming options, including changing extensions, replacing or inserting character strings, moving characters, and deleting characters. It also supports enumeration, name creation with mp3s Tag (ID v1.1), name creation with files' last modified date and time, random names creation, and case changes. Users can also rename based on a list or file, use EXIF info, and apply regular expressions. The software only modifies names, not contents.

Exactly what I wanted, and easy to use!
This app has Trojan inside. Don’t use it. https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/3c9bdc59842c786ef4cfba6ddbe39912326299104cc36a074b881d8ed68cc6c4/relations
1 shady Anti Virus flagged it as malware, not Trojan. Scanned it with Bitdefender and it's clean. Please don't scare people with false accusations.

I discovered it along with Bulk Crap Uninstaller and TreeSize in a list of open source suggestions for Windows. It's a shame it's not available on Linux, as it's the one I would have chosen without hesitation.
I like it because I wanted to massively remove the part of a name from several files and it was very easy and fast.
"Light" (i.e., not clunky, slow to start, etc) application that does the job lightning fast. I was desperately seeking alternative(s) to Bulk Rename Utility which I've used for years but for some reason (I'm on Win 10 & my music folder alone is just shy of 5 terabytes) it crashes/hangs constantly for the past solid year when accessing my external USB drive, driving me totally bonkers as have a TON of music. This Ant Renamer is FANTASTIC and I can't recommend it highly enough.
Actually works at regular expression, unlike some of the other top Windows renaming tools.
ReNamer is Freemium which only store max 5 presets or rules
