A program of this kind is very important for me. I collect all sorts of solution in PC repairs, health, etc. in one place. An «All my notes» DB. Because it has a functional search engine. It can show me the notes in the search window. Or it can filter them out and hide all the rest. I've been collecting notes since 2014 and now the DB is 2.074 Mb. I don't collect many pictures and docs, because I don't want the DB to grow much faster. It's on a SSD disk and the search is quick. It rarely...

AllMyNotes is one of the few Note-Taking apps that will bring in URL links smoothly and export to .rtf I like that it is similar to CherryTree, but I feel a lack in control in style. I know it's picayune, but I like links to have a simple underline under them. While I can manually put an underline, which will appear along with the dashed underline, I prefer not to have to do this manually.

This is the best note taking program I've found. I've tried them all. I started with Evernote and, while I initially loved the program, I wasn't a huge fan of the lack of privacy; Evernote employees can read your notes—and even though there's a process for you to "opt out" of them invading your privacy, I never fully trusted that they put my files truly off limits.
I've tried Noho notebooks, OneNote, CintaNotes (my second favorite), Laverna, Nimbus Note, Tomboy, Workflowy, Scrivener, Turtl, Joplin, CherryTree, Elephant,... and I'm sure there are others I've tried and immediately uninstalled.
I liked, and eventually purchased, AllMyNotes Organizer mainly because of the password feature. You can lock the program (you have to have the password to even open the program), you can lock individual folders, and then you can lock individual notes. It's such a simple and obviously helpful feature that almost no other note-taking program offers (note: Noho also gives you the capability of locking folders and notes).
There are features I haven't used but might come in handy for some people, like making check-boxed to-do lists—and you can even add alarms to notes or to-do list entries. There's dozens of "skins" and themes you can use. The font, font size, and highlight functions are freely available on your notes (which seems like it would be standard but a lot of the programs I listed above don't have the option to freely change font and font sizes).
My only complaint is that you can't assign a hyperlink to a note. CintaNotes spoiled me with assigned hyperlinks. You can just paste the hyperlink within the text but it's not nearly as handy as CintaNotes. Also, there's no tagging feature. In all the programs I've used, I have never tagged any of my notes, so it's not a feature I miss.
I purchased the Deluxe version for $23 and I'm extremely satisfied with everything.
Tagging is done as plain text. Tags can be in note titles. Or in the note body. It can search and filter with the AND operator.
I found it annoying to use, and uninstalled it. It also installed itself in startup, and I didn't care for that.
When it uninstalls, it doesn't clean up after itself properly -- as in, it left itself in the startup list. I had to edit the registry to get rid of it. I had to delete several registry keys.

I don't collect many pictures and docs, because I don't want the DB to grow much faster. It's on a SSD disk and the search is quick. It rarely crashes. When it crashes, its settings become default. To fix this I keep an archive with ready program files. I replace program files in such cases. It probably happens because I have an older version. It has multiple skins also, which is helpful when you get bored. I heard a popular opinion that there were only 2 best programs of this kind. They are this one and the Mars Notebook. Both are paid. Since they are important overall, paying this time does make sense. Besides, it's not a subscription service.

AllMyNotes is a star on the rise. Some outliner/organizer software developers think they need to add new features monthly and many end up a complicated mess. Hats off to AllMyNotes. I moved from InfoSelect 3 years again and never looked back. Using Beta 4 now (available on the website) so far, SO good!
I bought the app because after hours of searching, this was one of the few apps that could insert files, images, audio, word documents, plus make sub nodes (notes) for folders, and it is encrypted as well. That sold me on it.
However, I am using it to do bible study, and I often attach many images, power points, and pdf files, which add up over time. I am currently at 140mb, and it seems to run fine.
As a test, I inserted the same audio file probably 100 times, just to test a new notebook. It could not handle all the attached files and crashed. When I reopened the saved file, none of the attachments were there.
I did this test because I am concerned that in the future my file will grow very large in size, and I can't have a failure, you're talking about years of work. So I will hold on and use this program for now, but I do not see it being my main program for bible study. Still I have to applaud the developer, because I know how much work went into this software, and I still recommend it for storing important information, just not attachments or large files.
It's hard to imagine life without it, I use it daily :)
