AI Badger information
What is AI Badger?
AI Badger is an open-source, local-first tool that extracts focused context from a codebase for use in any AI chat. Instead of spending metered coding-agent tokens on repository exploration, architecture discussions, reviews, and planning, developers can move those requests to external chats such as Claude or ChatGPT, where usage may already be included with an existing subscription.
Privacy is central to the design: AI Badger analyzes the repository locally and never uploads the codebase. Developers choose exactly what context to share, while irrelevant files and boilerplate are filtered out.
The resulting design feedback or implementation plan can then be handed to a local coding agent for focused execution, reducing token usage, preserving privacy, and making paid coding-agent allowances last longer.
