What is Adobe Character Animator?
Create a character and animate it with your own performance. Adobe Character Animator (formerly Character Animator CC) uses your expressions and movements to animate your characters in real-time. So when you smile or nod your head, your character does, too. It’s so fast, you can even stream your animations live.
Note: Adobe Character Animator is currently available with the “All Apps” or “All Apps + Stock” subscription plans.

So far, so..kay. Imported some audio and used the audio analysis feature to sync a mouth (a built in project) to the audio. Worked great. Exported a puppet to bring into After Effects, and...? AE says no entiendo. Apparently importing the Character Animator project into AE is the proper method, so I tried that and got a "Failed to connect to Dynamic Server" error. Typical Adobe. Killed a few of their 18 million background processes that are always hogging resources, and hung up half of the time. That got it working.
