I'm developing a radio monitoring system that help analyse the tendency of popular music with ACRCloud's music recognition service. It is wonderful and easy to integrate.
Totally useless crap. I tested it for recognition of songs by humming - this is the only case for which such tool can be useful. When you don't remember the lyrics of the song you heard, all you can do is hum it as you remember it to the person who knows (very hard to find) or hum it to the recognition algorithm which is connected to a big database of songs. So I tested it for that and discovered that it recognizes the song only when you know its lyrics and hum them distinctly. But in this case you don't need this tool at all - you just type the lyrics into the search engine and get the song name at once (the same is true if you have a recording, but in this case it's even easier to use Shazam). And when I hummed how the vocals sounded without actual lyrics (I tried three different songs), it recognized nothing. So don't waste your time, moreover that it doesn't have a UI at all (in order to use it you have to launch the program code that they provide in their manual and then personally ask them to enable humming recognition for you). When Midomi was still working, it did much better than that. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for some time now.
ACRCloud's 40+ million music database is amazing. I don't need to worry about my music finder app's recognition rate. I'm a Free user now and I'm about to pay for more functionalities. The price is very reasonable.
