What is Acousmos?

Acousmos is a privacy-first AI dictation app for macOS. Press a hotkey, speak naturally — ums and repeats welcome — and polished text is typed wherever your cursor is: editor, browser, Slack, email. AI clean-up removes filler and fixes grammar, with per-app style routing (set once: Coding for AI coding tools, formal in email). Unlike tools that treat your words as disposable, Acousmos archives every dictation locally — original audio and text, full-text searchable in English and Chinese, open format, exportable, yours forever. Voice translation is built in: set a target language once and speak in another. Pro adds bring-your-own-keys and fully local offline models, so your voice never has to touch anyone's cloud. One-month free Pro trial; no signup, no card; every paid plan covers 2 Macs.
