3 & Done

3 & Done is a daily focus app. Every task system its founder tried died of upkeep: the tags, the projects, the weekly re-sort. This one asks for none of it. You empty your head into it, typed or spoken, as messy as it comes; speech is transcribed on your own device. Each morning it emails you the three things that matter today, each with the reason it made the cut, and everything else waits until it matters. Finish them and close the tab. It suggests three and never limits you: add more whenever you want. It knows the shape of your week, too: deadlines closing in and anything urgent get their due, and days you keep for play stay that way. There are no views, filters or boards to tend, so the list can grow without becoming a second job, and nobody reads it. Built by one engineer who, in twenty-three years, abandoned about twenty-five task tools and five methods first. Web and email today: the web app installs to your phone's home screen, and on Android a gesture opens it straight to the mic. Native apps to follow. 14-day free trial, then $99 a year or $9.99 a month.
