Things 3.24 arrives with native Siri AI integration and expanded Spotlight search
Cultured Code has released Things 3.24, a major update to its popular task management app that arrives alongside Apple's OS 27 operating system. The standout addition is native integration with Siri AI, a newly announced beta feature that fundamentally improves how users interact with Things via voice. According to the developer, the updated Siri can understand natural language requests far better than its predecessor, allowing users to create to-dos without adhering to rigid command structures. As a demonstration, users can now say something like “For the road trip next week, I need to get my tires checked. Add a reminder to Things for next Thursday” and have it properly parsed. The beta also introduces conversational capabilities, letting users follow up with corrections or additional information rather than being limited to single-shot commands.
Beyond the AI integration, Things 3.24 brings several practical enhancements including full Spotlight search integration, a frequently requested feature that surfaces tasks in the system-wide search results. Notification snoozing has been overhauled with expanded preset options ranging from quick 15-minute delays to “tomorrow at 9:00 AM”. A new extra-tall widget provides more screen real estate for viewing longer task lists at a glance, while visual refinements align the app's appearance with OS 27's glass effects.
The update is available now as a free download on the App Store across Mac, iPad, iPhone, Watch, and Vision Pro. However, access to the Siri AI and Spotlight features requires OS 27 installation, and the AI functionality itself remains limited during its beta phase, currently available only in English, select regions, and on modern hardware. Users concerned about privacy can disable the Spotlight integration in Things' settings if they prefer their tasks remain off the system search radar.
