n8n introduces Agents with workflow tools and shared sessions

n8n has introduced Agents, a new way to create goal-driven assistants with a model, instructions, tools and workflows that determine their own steps.

A published agent can run in channels such as Slack, on a schedule or from a workflow, while retaining its sessions, memory and configuration.

Agents can use existing workflows as scoped tools, and the new Message an Agent node lets workflows call an agent; the existing AI Agent node remains unchanged.
