n8n launches agent harness for cross-instance automations
n8n has introduced an agent harness, allowing agents to operate as standalone objects accessible across an entire instance or organization via native chat.
The new agent system adds native skill support, sub agents, effort-based routing, persistent memory, text scheduling, and chat connectors.
Workflows will continue to handle deterministic logic, while agents use the MCP library for more dynamic tasks.
The harness is still in preview, with staged rollout planned for cloud users.
