Tuta adds faster email search, label improvements, and calendar time zones for events
Tuta has released substantial updates across its privacy-focused email and calendar platforms. Tuta Mail now offers faster search capabilities through full mailbox indexing and encrypted local storage, allowing encrypted emails to be searched more efficiently. Alongside this, the ongoing enhancements to Tuta Mail's sync engine, building on last year's FastSync rollout, mean users gain even quicker access to their encrypted mailboxes.
Following these performance gains, Tuta Mail also introduces several organizational improvements. Labels now display unread email counters, can be nested to support hierarchical organization, and shared mailboxes have become collapsible for easier navigation. For those seeking expanded automation, Tuta plans to launch inbox rules enabling automatic label assignment, a feature that has been frequently requested by the community.
Extending beyond mail, Tuta Calendar now supports time zones for events, reflecting another widely requested feature. Users can now specify the relevant time zone for any event and, if needed, assign different start and end time zones, especially helpful for scenarios such as international travel or remote coordination.
