Google's AI Mode can now track flight prices, book hotels, and see cost in miles or points
Google is adding travel planning tools to AI Mode in Search, including flight price alerts, points and miles pricing, and hotel booking. AI Mode already provides real-time flight and hotel comparisons, web recommendations, and itinerary planning, and it's now getting more powerful.
For flights, users can set price alerts while chatting with AI Mode. They can describe a destination and travel dates to see current options and prices from more than 300 airline and travel-site partners. Following a flight search, AI Mode can build a full itinerary. Users buy tickets through an airline website or their preferred booking platform, rather than directly through AI Mode.
In addition, AI Mode can now show points or miles required for flights and hotels. The rates use current data supplied by Google's partners, and the feature is available globally. For hotel stays, AI Mode can return a visual list based on a user's trip details and preferences. Listings include guest reviews and factors for comparison. Hotel booking has started rolling out in the United States in English.
