macOS 28 drops support for encrypted Mac OS Extended volumes
With macOS 28, encrypted Mac OS Extended (HFS+) volumes will no longer be supported.
Users are advised to decrypt or reformat these volumes to APFS to maintain compatibility with future macOS versions.
Notifications about this incompatibility will begin appearing in macOS 26.
