Zettlr 4.6 brings faster search, improved tables, custom trigger, and regression fixes

Zettlr 4.6 introduces a range of stability improvements and workflow upgrades for users working with Markdown-based notes. The new release addresses regressions resulting from the recent shift in the CSS editor to CSS variables, resolving bugs that affected the editing experience.

Search functionality has received major improvements, with full-text search now operating 50% to 100% faster and producing more relevant results. The update also brings a revised autocomplete system for recent searches and directory restrictions, bypassing a longstanding Chromium issue that limited the previous HTML implementation.

For users writing in French, a key usability concern has been addressed. Zettlr now allows the snippet autocomplete trigger character to be changed, preventing conflicts with the colon symbol and making text entry smoother for francophone users.

Following these enhancements, the application now supports more efficient table editing through improved automation commands, added keyboard shortcuts, and a generally refined workflow. The tutorial is available in Portuguese, and a new shortcut enables the rapid removal of line breaks during editing. In addition, Elixir syntax highlighting is supported in code blocks, the Escape key closes the search panel regardless of focus, and macOS users will see window vibrancy disabled by default.

Under the hood, Zettlr updates its Electron framework to version 42.3.3 and Pandoc to 3.10.
