Sony raises PlayStation Plus prices for new subscribers, current users mostly unaffected
Sony has announced that prices for its 1-month and 3-month PlayStation Plus subscriptions will increase beginning May 20, 2026. The 1-month plan will go from $9.99 USD to $10.99 USD, while the 3-month option will rise from $24.99 USD to $27.99 USD.
Current subscribers are not immediately affected by this change, unless they are located in India or Turkey, or if their subscription changes or lapses. For most, only new sign-ups will see the new pricing structure for now.
While shorter-term plans are rising in cost, the 12-month PlayStation Plus subscription will continue to be offered at $79.99 USD per year. This could encourage more users to commit to longer-term plans, as these remain the most cost-effective option.
Sony stated that the increases are due to “ongoing market conditions” but did not provide additional detail. These adjustments follow two prior price increases for PlayStation 5 consoles. The company previously linked such changes to “continued pressures in the global economic landscape”.
