qBittorrent 5.2 brings disk space display, reboot automation, and tracker status filter

qBittorrent 5.2 has been released as the latest version of this open source software that lets you download and share torrents. This release introduces several key interface updates, starting with a new status bar display for free disk space. Users can also personalize the look of the Pieces Bar and Progress Bar by customizing colors, choosing whether the progress bar follows the torrent state, or disabling these state colors completely.

Building on these changes, the release adds a reboot option that allows the system to restart automatically once downloads finish, offering more convenience for batch or overnight download scenarios. Advanced users benefit from a new separate tracker status filter, enabling more granular management of torrent sources. The interface has also gained a dedicated torrent creator button, making torrent generation easier to access.

Expanding global usability, Albanian, Bosnian, Kazakh, Nepali, and Serbian translations are now available. Following UI enhancements, users on any supported operating system can further refine styles and color schemes. The web-based interface has been refreshed, and improvements to the internal search function further enhance usability for remote and local users.

Technical updates in this release include dropping support for the Qt 6.5 toolkit, implementing lossless image compression, and introducing performance improvements for faster resume queue loading and more efficient torrent startup. Additionally, this release also enhances the web API and RSS, and fixes several bugs for improved stability and usability.
