X rolls out custom timelines to personalize feeds by interest, exclusive to Premium users
X has introduced Custom Timelines, a feature that lets users organize their feeds around specific interests by pinning topics such as food, art, movies, or finance directly to the Home tab. Nikita Bier, X’s head of product, called it one of the platform’s biggest changes and said the team spent months developing the update.
Custom timelines show the latest discussions around selected interests and hobbies, using Grok’s post understanding together with X’s personalization algorithms. The feature is similar to custom feeds on Bluesky and Threads, and also feels reminiscent of one of the most recognizable features of the long gone TweetDeck (now X Pro), though X’s version is currently limited to Premium subscribers on iOS, with Android support planned soon.
X has also added a topic snooze tool that lets Premium users hide subjects such as politics or sports from the For You feed for 24 hours. This feature is available on iOS and the web, giving subscribers more control over what appears in their feed.
