Slack delivers major update to Slackbot, introducing over 30 new AI-powered capabilities
Salesforce has announced more than 30 new AI capabilities for Slackbot, transforming it from a personal assistant into a collaborative, context-aware teammate. With these updates, Slackbot now functions as a meeting assistant, providing automated meeting transcription and note-taking with access to business context. Teams can take advantage of reusable AI-skills, allowing them to define tasks and automate execution when Slackbot detects relevant prompts.
For workflow efficiency, Slackbot gains MCP client functionality, enabling it to route requests or questions to Agentforce or any suitable enterprise system without user intervention. In addition, small businesses now receive native customer management tools within Slackbot: it monitors channels, tracks customer interactions, and updates deals, contacts, and call notes automatically.
Following this, enterprise users on Salesforce can interact with the entire Customer 360 platform through Slackbot, managing accounts, routing cases, and triggering workflows conversationally without opening Salesforce applications. New features also introduce voice input, deep research skills, and shareable prompts, while Slackbot’s memory function adapts to users’ preferences and workflows, offering increasingly relevant assistance over time.
Currently, Slackbot is available on Slack Business+ and Enterprise+ plans. Starting in April, Free and Pro plan users will receive included conversations for hands-on Slackbot experience.
