Meta now lets parents see what topics their teens are discussins with AI on its platform

Meta is updating its parental supervision tools across Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram with a new Insights tab. This feature, available both in-app and on the web, offers parents a weekly view of the topics their teens have asked Meta AI about in each platform. The information is accessible regardless of whether Meta AI responded to the teen’s question, enhancing transparency for parents monitoring their children's digital interactions.

On the same topic, Meta recently introduced alerting for sensitive topics. If a teen initiates a conversation about suicide or self-harm with Meta AI, parents receive a notification. This initiative builds on existing safety measures that shape Meta AI’s behavior with teens, including response guidelines inspired by age-appropriate 13+ movie rating criteria and parental feedback. As a result, Meta AI is configured to avoid answering questions that are not suitable for users in this age group and may direct teens to resource links instead where necessary.

While these new insights and alerts are designed to supplement earlier safety features, they collectively aim to give parents more visibility into their teens’ general interactions with artificial intelligence on Meta’s platforms.

Not gonna' do anything except make them avoid using Facebook and Instagram.

Maybe they should have started with these features instead of mandatory age verification. Verify parent with credit card and let the parent see all information of subaccounts. Or better yet, just disable all social accounts for children. That would be an amazing feature.
