Deepin 25.1 launches with Linux 6.18, UOS AI upgrades, and new immutable system features
Deepin 25.1 is the first major update in the Deepin 25 series, with new ISOs for AMD64, ARM64, Loong64, and a RISC V technology preview. It moves from Linux 6.12 to Linux 6.18 LTS, bringing updated memory management, broader hardware support, and file system improvements for Ext4 and XFS. Deepin also adds the BORE scheduler from CachyOS to improve desktop responsiveness.
UOS AI is one of the main areas of focus in this release. It adds a system level Claw Mode for interacting with mainstream messaging apps, a rebuilt writing agent with outline first generation and source traceability, and a built-in editor with export to PDF, Word, and Markdown. Deepin also introduces a new Skills Center for importing or creating AI skills, while screen capture and recording tools now include AI assisted features for explanation and translation.
Deepin 25.1 continues to build on its Solid foundation, which includes read only protection for core directories, automatic snapshots before updates, and rollback support, while still allowing users to re enable write access when needed. The system remains compatible with apt and dpkg, and the update also includes security patches, kernel vulnerability fixes, better update reliability, updated NVIDIA proprietary drivers, and some desktop improvements such as new multi window taskbar behavior.
