Meta owned Manus AI platform adds Telegram support for running full Agents tasks in chats

Manus, the AI chatbot and agents platform recently acquired by Meta, has introduced Manus Agents, which brings its AI task workflows into third party messaging apps, starting with Telegram. Users can kick off Manus tasks like research, data processing, and report generation without leaving the chat, with structured results including summaries and PDFs delivered directly in the same thread.

The move echoes the recently highly popular OpenClaw, which helped push the idea of interacting with AI agents through several mainstream messaging apps like WhatsApp, iMessage or Telegram as well. Manus Agents also supports voice messages, photos, and documents, letting the agent transcribe audio, interpret intent, and return edits or variations within the conversation. For getting started, Manus lists four steps: open the Agents tab, click Connect, scan the QR code or open the link to the chat, then start messaging, with no command line steps or token handling.

Users can switch between Manus 1.6 Max for deeper reasoning and Manus 1.6 Lite for faster everyday tasks, while integrations like Gmail, Calendar, and Notion expand what the agent can do from chat. Manus also lets users set a preferred response style, such as concise or conversational, and says the agent only accesses messages sent directly in its private Telegram chat. Support for additional messaging platforms is in development and will be added over time.
