Figma and Anthropic launch Code to Canvas for editable AI-generated designs in Figma

Figma and Anthropic have partnered to launch Code to Canvas, a feature that lets users send AI generated interfaces from Claude Code into Figma as fully editable design layers. It uses the Figma Model Context Protocol (MPC) to connect Claude outputs with Figma’s collaborative canvas.

In Claude Code, users type “Send this to Figma” to convert the rendered browser interface into structured design layers. Once in Figma, teams can edit, rearrange, and annotate the UI as native objects, and the workflow supports both prompt first work in Figma Make and code first work in Claude Code.

The update makes it easier to compare flows side by side, spot inconsistencies, and explore variations without rewriting code. Designers, engineers, and PMs can respond to the same artifact with shared context, helping decisions happen earlier. Figma also says the MCP server can move work back into coding environments using a link to a Figma frame, with guides and developer docs available for setup and supported clients.
