DietPi 10.1 debuts NanoPi Zero2 support, WhoDB software, Navidrome RISC-V support and more

DietPi 10.1 is now available, continuing its focus on lightweight operation for single-board computers. The highlight of this release is a new DietPi image for the NanoPi Zero2, expanding hardware support to the FriendlyELEC device powered by the Rockchip RK3528 system-on-chip.

This version introduces WhoDB as a selectable software option. WhoDB offers a database management tool powered by an artificial intelligence chat interface, enabling users to interact with databases via natural language queries. In parallel, Navidrome, a music streaming software, now supports the RISC-V architecture with new official builds beginning at version 0.60.0.

Addressing previous hardware concerns, the NanoPi R5C now consistently assigns eth0 to the LAN port and eth1 to the WAN port across reboots, resolving network interface naming inconsistencies. Alongside, DietPi-Banner has gained the ability to display the Linux kernel version, aiding in system diagnostics.

Additional updates impact Python application management, with all Python software options now utilizing Python virtual environments for improved isolation. The MinIO storage server now includes its mc console client for restored administration features, and remote desktop servers such as TigerVNC, RealVNC, and XRDP no longer require a full desktop, operating with just the X server to run individual graphical applications.
