Joplin 3.5 refines Markdown editing, adds case insensitive tags & boosts syncing & sharing
Joplin 3.5 has been released as the latest version of this open source, privacy-focused note-taking application. The Markdown editor now offers greater stability, with headings in the editor closely matching their appearance in the rendered view. This reduces the visual shift between editing and reading and addresses layout issues, so that checkboxes and images no longer disrupt the workflow.
Alongside these editor improvements, the update introduces the ABC music notation plugin as a core feature. This enhancement means users can incorporate music notation directly in published notes and within the rich text editor.
Moving between notes is now a more seamless experience. Joplin retains cursor position and scroll location more reliably, helping users switch contexts without losing their place. The app also handles tags case-insensitively, which minimizes accidental duplicate tags caused by inconsistent capitalization, while still supporting mixed-case names.
Regarding synchronization, Joplin 3.5 offers more robust syncing and sharing, especially for those using WebDAV or Amazon S3. The syncing process is now more efficient, detects all changes, and avoids unnecessary data usage.
Accessibility enhancements include clearer dark mode readability and visible editor elements. Animations are also reduced or disabled in line with system “reduce motion” preferences. On the desktop, users benefit from easier profile management, improved OneNote import, and more reliable search, while the mobile app delivers a more capable rich text editor, simplified tag management, and improved stability.

Note taking is really kinda when you don't want to put little .TXT File Fact sheets in the background on the Desktop, I have really never gotten the point, even though aesthetically they are pleasing.
