YouTube expands its multi-language audio feature to all creators globally
YouTube has officially expanded its multi-language audio feature, making it available to all creators after a two-year pilot program. The feature lets creators upload dubbed audio tracks in several languages, allowing them to reach larger audiences in other regions. This rollout will be gradual, reaching millions of content creators over the coming weeks.
The company reports that during YouTube's pilot phase, over 25% of creators' watch time was from viewers using non-primary languages, highlighting demand for localized options. To access the new language features, viewers can select their preferred audio track in the video player by clicking the gear icon and navigating to the 'Audio track' menu.
In addition to audio, YouTube has also been testing multi-language thumbnails with select creators since June 2025. This feature allows uploaders to localize text in thumbnail images for different regions and complement audio localization.
