PowerToys 0.94 launches with new settings search, conflict alerts, gliding cursor & more

Microsoft PowerToys version 0.94 introduces a settings search capability, accessible via Ctrl+F or by clicking the new search box, allowing users to quickly find options across its expanding suite. The search supports fuzzy matching for partial queries, shows suggestions in a flyout, and navigates directly to the correct page. If more than five results appear, a full results page is available.

Shortcut conflict detection now highlights when a hotkey is already in use by another PowerToys module or by Windows itself, marking conflicting entries in red for immediate attention. The home dashboard features a Shortcut Conflicts tile that displays the current conflict count. Clicking it opens an overview for reassigning shortcuts, helping ensure custom hotkeys work as intended.

Mouse Pointer Crosshairs gains a gliding cursor mode that lets users move the pointer step by step with a single shortcut. Pressing the shortcut begins the glide, then locks horizontal, vertical, and finally clicks. This improves accessibility for users who struggle with fast or precise movements. Other updates include a new installer, Quick Accent support for Maltese, runtime registration for Windows 10 context menus, Hosts Editor improvements, and Command Palette fixes.
