Notion 3.0 introduces new AI agents to automate nearly all tasks a human can do in the app

Notion has introduced its next major version, Notion 3.0, highlighted by the launch of new AI agents that act as virtual assistants capable of performing nearly all tasks typically handled by users within the workspace. These new agents go beyond basic chatbot functions like answering questions, taking on full workflow automations ranging from online research and drafting documents to updating entire databases.

For example, the AI agent can generate email campaigns, compile feedback from different platforms, reorganize meeting notes, build article databases, assign project tasks, and update knowledge bases. It can access the web, existing Notion content, and integrations such as Slack or Google Drive, while respecting user permissions. Each agent can work autonomously for up to 20 minutes, processing hundreds of pages at once. Users can edit results directly or let the AI make adjustments, while agents adapt to personal preferences through editable profile memories. Multiple profiles can be created for different workflows.

The company also announced it is testing Custom Agents that run on schedules or triggers and can be shared across teams, keeping work moving without supervision by handling recurring tasks like compiling feedback, posting updates, or managing requests, with broader rollout and pricing still under review.
