Adobe to retire Premiere Rush and launch new Premiere app for iPhone & iPad on Sept 30

Adobe is set to discontinue Premiere Rush, its streamlined video editor for desktop, iOS, and Android users. In response, the company will introduce a new Premiere app for iPhone and iPad, which is planned to launch on September 30, 2025, as a full replacement for Premiere Rush on mobile. Once the new app is available, the legacy Premiere Rush app will no longer be available for download, although customers may continue using already installed copies until final discontinuation on September 30, 2026.

With this change, users will access a standalone, free video editing app on iPhone and iPad. The new mobile Premiere will include generative AI-powered features through Firefly, which users can access via generative credits — purchasable separately or included with Creative Cloud subscriptions. Building on workflow integration, the updated Premiere app will allow creators to start editing projects on iOS and then move seamlessly to Premiere Pro on desktop to complete advanced edits and exercise detailed creative control.

While these updates focus on iPhone and iPad, Adobe has not yet released a new Premiere app for Android. Instead, Android users can now preregister for an upcoming beta, signaling that future support is in development.
