xAI introduces Grok 4 with multimodal capabilities and a new $300/month subscription plan
xAI has launched Grok 4 and Grok 4 Heavy, representing its most advanced artificial intelligence models so far. Grok 4 Heavy debuts as a multi-agent system and recorded a 50% score on the HLE benchmark, framing it as xAI’s new flagship. These models support multimodal inputs, handling text, images, and soon video, and can interpret memes for culturally relevant responses.
xAI has launched the SuperGrok Heavy subscription at $300 per month, making it the most expensive among current high-end AI plans. In comparison, OpenAI’s ChatGPT Pro, Anthropic’s Claude Max, and Perplexity Max each cost $200/month, while Google’s Gemini Ultra is $249/month. SuperGrok Heavy includes early access to advanced features like video generation and outperforms competitors in benchmarks, scoring 44.4% on ARC-AGI-2 with tools, well above Gemini 2.5 Pro’s 26.9% and nearly doubling the next-best result in visual reasoning.
While Grok 4 Code, an upcoming specialized model for code-related tasks, is expected to launch in the coming weeks, Grok 4 is currently aimed at developers, researchers, and technical users requiring advanced reasoning and code analysis. Access to Grok 4 is currently available via X Premium and SuperGrok subscription tiers.

Is it still based or did they neuter it?
Well, this "MechaHilter" is definitively not cheap. As always, bigger and more expensive doesn't mean smarter. So let's wait few weeks to see if this model is relevant as it should be at this price.
Didn’t want to mention the recent controversy in the news but yeah, seeing the announcement after that was a bit awkward hehe
Don't make a mistake, Grok going Hitler fanboy shortly after Elon doing a Nazi salute are two totally unrelated events. First of all, that was a Roman salute and his supreme majesty Dork Maga has autism. And secondly, Grok probably just picked up Nazi apologia by being trained on users of X 👍
