Organic Maps July update brings improved location highlight, better Arabic search and more

Organic Maps has rolled out its latest update, featuring refreshed OpenStreetMap data current to July 8 and new Wikipedia map data as of July 1. This ensures users have access to the latest mapping details across all regions. The search experience has been enhanced for Arabic language queries, aiding Arabic-speaking users in finding locations more reliably.

Alongside data improvements, the map display now highlights campsites, resort areas, and industrial zones, helping travelers and planners spot key areas more easily. Charging stations are now marked with a dedicated icon, making electric vehicle infrastructure easier to locate in both the map and search results.

Following these map enhancements, users benefit from additional usability updates. New icons for bookmarks and recorded or imported tracks have been introduced, offering a clearer way to find and manage personal routes. Routing at roundabouts has been refined with the inclusion of secondary roads, addressing prior navigation gaps. Additionally, when saving routes, elevation/altitude data is now recorded if available, offering value for outdoor navigation.

Finally, this release brings updated translations, various minor enhancements, and bug fixes for Android and iOS devices, contributing to a smoother experience across platforms.

Just a clarification (that also goes for Organic Maps announcement): "Wikipedia map data" is for POI specifying the Wikipedia article are downloaded so the article content (only text) to be read offline. Wikipedia doesn't have its own map (but only uses OpenStreeMap data).
