PeerTube 7.2 brings major video management UI overhaul and new content warning tools
PeerTube version 7.2 introduces a major overhaul to its video management experience. The updated interface features clearer pagination, customizable columns, enhanced channel selection, and improved visibility filters. Alongside these changes, the video and live publication or update pages have been reorganized into separate, easily navigable sections. These now appear in a unified side sub-menu, which also groups the Studio and statistics pages, helping users locate all tools related to video management quickly.
Within the updated workflow, unavailable features are now clearly indicated, while a contextual help button offers explanations for their status. A newly added horizontal banner streamlines editing with single-click undo, save, and direct navigation to the public video page. Additionally, the video replacement workflow benefits from a redesigned page that now supports drag-and-drop uploads for new video versions.
In terms of content moderation, video makers can now provide reasons when applying warnings to videos, following an approach similar to Mastodon's content warning system. Viewer settings for handling sensitive videos have been revised, offering options to display, warn, blur, or hide flagged content. Where enabled by administrators, these content rules can be automated based on predefined tags selected by the creator.
