Organic Maps adds planned route saving, recording track information, and new map objects
Organic Maps, the privacy-focused offline maps & GPS app for hiking, cycling, biking, and driving, has released its June update, bringing the ability for users to save planned routes as tracks. This widely requested feature streamlines trip planning, letting outdoor enthusiasts retain and revisit their custom paths easily.
While iOS users can now view detailed information about tracks currently being recorded, Android users benefit from the addition of the azimuth angle from north. This angle shows up when tapping the small arrow with distance on the place information page, offering more precise orientation tools.
These platform updates are joined by a substantial enrichment of the underlying map data. Users on all systems will now see new map places, including plant nurseries, crash or traffic barriers, media studios, firepits, ladders, cranes, and love hotels. Alongside these additions, the latest release includes refreshed OpenStreetMap data, improving overall map accuracy.
Additionally, the update enhances category search for Lithuanian and several other languages, offering smoother search experiences for multilingual users. The update also delivers translation refreshes and general bug fixes on both mobile and desktop, improving reliability and usability.
