Obsidian 1.9.0 introduces Bases plugin for database-style note management
Obsidian 1.9.0 Desktop introduces the Bases plugin, allowing users to convert note collections into customizable databases with table views, filters, and formulas. Data for Bases is managed via local Markdown files with YAML properties, and a new .base file format is introduced. The plugin is in early beta, with additional view types, plugin API access, and Publish integration planned. This update also includes a Footnotes view plugin, improvements to Sync history, File Recovery, UI interactions, and bug fixes across features like PDF rendering and tab management.
