Hugging Face and Kaggle launch seamless integration to streamline AI developer workflows
Hugging Face and Kaggle are collaborating to create deeper integration between their platforms, aiming to improve the experience for AI developers. With this update, Kaggle users can now view and access Hugging Face models directly from Kaggle’s interface, enhancing discoverability and simplifying workflows for both communities. Bidirectional navigation enables users to switch seamlessly between Hugging Face model pages and Kaggle projects.
Alongside the improved navigation, new workflow shortcuts are available. Visiting a Hugging Face model page presents a “Use this model” button, which lets users launch a Kaggle notebook with the code to load that model already prepared. Similarly, Hugging Face model pages on Kaggle now feature a “Code” button for direct access to notebook creation.
Building on these enhancements, when a Kaggle notebook references a Hugging Face model, a new Hugging Face model page will be generated automatically if it does not already exist, removing manual steps. Making a notebook public ensures it appears immediately in the Code tab of the associated Kaggle model page. To address offline Kaggle competitions, both teams are developing a solution for using Hugging Face models in competition notebooks, a feature targeted for release in the near future.
