YouTube announces TV app UI redesign, AI features for YT Music & Multiview for YouTube TV
YouTube is set to launch a major redesign of its app for Smart TVs this summer, featuring improved navigation, enhanced playback controls, and easier access to quality adjustments. The update will also make comments, channel information, and the subscribe button more prominent in the interface.
Additionally, YouTube TV is expanding its multiview feature, allowing users to customize their setups with popular non-sports channels, moving beyond the previous sports-only or preselected options. Alongside these updates, YouTube Music has introduced "Ask Music," an AI tool for creating personalized radio stations based on user preferences, available for YouTube Premium and YouTube Music users in English-speaking regions. YouTube Premium members will also gain a new playback speed option of up to 4x on mobile devices.
Furthermore, a feature allowing creators to reply to comments with voice notes will be expanded to more users later this year. These announcements were made in YouTube's blog post celebrating two decades of the platform, highlighting significant enhancements across its services.
