PowerToys 0.90 has launched with a major update to PowerToys Run, called Command Palette

Microsoft PowerToys version 0.90 is now available, introducing several key improvements across its modules. The standout feature of this update is the new "Command Palette" (CmdPal), a highly anticipated evolution of PowerToys Run first announced in December of last year. This new launcher enables users to quickly launch applications, execute shell commands, search files, and install software using WinGet. Its interface and third-party extension support are similar to popular launchers like Raycast, which is expected soon on Windows. Activated with the shortcut Win+Alt+Space, the Command Palette focuses on extensibility and richer display capabilities.

Additionally, the update includes improvements to the Color Picker tool, which now utilizes .NET WPF for enhanced visual consistency and theme support. The "Peek" feature has been upgraded to allow direct file deletion during preview and improved navigation of deleted items. Other enhancements include bug fixes for FancyZones, improved logging and code refactoring for "Mouse Without Borders," and updates to PowerToys Run to fix application duplication and crash issues.

The Settings module also saw changes, disabling spell check in plugin configuration text boxes and adding a retry button for handling release note display errors. PowerToys 0.90 can be updated or downloaded via GitHub, the Microsoft Store, or through the internal update mechanism.
