Home Assistant 2025.4 brings Areas Dashboard, new Clock card, and enhanced voice features
Home Assistant has launched version 2025.4 of its open-source home automation software, introducing a range of new features and enhancements. Among the key updates is the experimental Areas Dashboard, which automatically generates a dashboard based on predefined home areas, featuring sections and tile cards for a streamlined user interface.
A new Clock card has been added, offering customizable options for displaying the current time, while improvements to the voice wizard simplify the setup of voice assistants. Home Assistant now supports continued conversations with LLMs like ChatGPT and can initiate calls to analog phones for voice interactions, specifically with ESPHome-based voice assistants.
The update also allows users to restore backups directly from the Home Assistant Cloud during the onboarding of new installations. New integrations include Bosch Alarm, Remote calendar, and Pterodactyl, along with virtual integrations like FrankEver, LinkedGo, and Ogemray. Existing integrations, such as OpenAI and Google AI, have also received enhancements.
Additional updates include new templates, improved energy management, and various other improvements and bug fixes.
