WhatsApp introduces music support for Status updates, just like Instagram

WhatsApp latest update introduces the ability for users to add soundtracks to their Status updates, aligning it with similar features on other Meta-owned platforms like Instagram and Facebook. Users will now find a music note icon at the top of the screen when creating a Status, allowing them to browse millions of available songs.

Users can select specific portions of a song by dragging a slider, with music clips lasting up to 15 seconds for photos and up to 60 seconds for videos. All music-added Status updates remain end-to-end encrypted, ensuring privacy.

The feature is being rolled out globally and will be accessible to more users in the coming weeks. To use this new feature, users should update their WhatsApp app to the latest version.
