Teams' latest updates introduced AI meeting recaps, chat agents, scheduled messages & more
Microsoft Teams has recently introduced a range of new features, including chat agents, scheduled messages, and AI meeting recaps. These updates improve chat by enabling agents and bots into both individual and group chats via @mentions across Windows, macOS, and web platforms. Additionally, scheduled messages in channels enable users to send messages at predetermined times, which is particularly useful for teams operating in different time zones. Notifications are now more customizable, offering users greater control over where alerts appear on their screens.
Other enhancements include improved app discovery, making it easier to locate and reinstall previously used apps in group chats, channels, and meetings. For Microsoft Teams Premium and Microsoft 365 Copilot users, AI-generated meeting recaps provide summaries for easier catch-up on missed webinars and town halls.
Additional updates include spoken language customization for better accessibility, support for multi-tenant organizations with Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Teams Rooms enhancements for hybrid meetings. The update also improves the Teams calendar interface on iPads, revamps Apple CarPlay integration, and introduces new call management features for third-party developers.
